Frequently Asked Questions

MARXOS is a deeply sampled collection of Marxophones for Kontakt. It includes detailed acoustic instruments, prepared Marxophones, mechanical sounds, percussive patches and a large collection of transformed sounds created from the original recordings.
The library contains 49 patches, 2,700 samples and 6.1 GB of material.

Mechanical sounds are available on separate faders, so you can bring them forward for a more physical performance or reduce them when you want something cleaner.

The Marxophone is a lap-sized zither patented in 1912 by Henry Charles Marx. Above the melody strings are flexible metal arms with small hammers attached. When a lever is pressed, the hammer bounces against the string, creating the instrument’s characteristic tremolo and repeated-note sound.

Yes. The Acoustic section contains detailed recordings of the original instruments, including single notes, bouncing articulations, tremolos and different tonal variations.

Sound Sculpt is our additional transformation system hidden behind the FX controls.
It can introduce sub frequencies, movement, grains, modulation, randomisation and other transformations to the original sound. It is particularly useful for turning relatively simple source patches into something more atmospheric or unpredictable.

Yes. The MARXOS interface can be resized, so it can be kept compact or enlarged depending on your screen and working setup.

To use Marxos, you require the Full Retail Version of Kontakt 6.4.1. Newer full versions of Kontakt can also load the library. It requires approximately 6.2 GB of free space for installation. Note: The free Kontakt Player is not sufficient.

We recommend having considerably more free space available while downloading and extracting the files. As a general rule, having at least twice the library size free will allow room for both the ZIP archive and the extracted library during installation.
An SSD is recommended for fast loading.

No.
MARXOS is downloaded directly from Wrongtools and does not require a serial number to be entered into Native Access.

After unzipping, move the folder to your preferred location.

You can open the instruments directly from Kontakt’s browser or file system and organise them using your normal Kontakt workflow.

MARXOS is not a Kontakt Player-licensed library, so it cannot be added to the traditional Kontakt Libraries tab in the same way as Native Access libraries.

Yes.
You may use MARXOS in your own musical compositions, film scores, television, games, library music, records, advertising and other commercial productions.
What you may not do is redistribute the original samples or use them to create another sample library or competing sample product.

The latest version will remain available through your Wrongtools account.

When an update is released, you can download the current library again and replace the older version. We recommend keeping a backup of the previous version until you have confirmed that existing projects continue to behave as expected.

And if something goes wrong, just contact us. We are here.
