Nop. No. Longitudinal has zero interest in being a “meat-and-potatoes” library. It provides the secret sauce—those weaved tonal beds and atmospheric movements that are impossible to program manually. Use a standard library for the hits; use Longitudinal for the soul.
Think colors, and exciting combinations of instruments. Think the underscoring for a slow, emotional scene, high-end documentaries, cerebral sci-fi, or contemporary art installations. If your cue needs to sound expensive, unique, and deeply nuanced, this is your library. If you’re doing an 80s action soundalike, maybe dial it back a bit.
The full, paid-for version of Native Instruments Kontakt (specifically version 6.4.2 or higher). It’s premium content, so it requires the full-fat sampler. It will not work in the free Kontakt Player. So, get your wallet out, you magnificent composer!
