CINEMATIC THUMB PIANO

Fingerimba is a cinematic Kontakt library by Wrongtools. It features a beautifully sampled sansula and a homemade kalimba, with tines mounted onto a piano’s resonating plate. The instruments were recorded at a whisper-soft dynamic to capture warm and clear tones, ideal for film scoring and delicate musical textures.

As a standard open-format Kontakt library, Fingerimba does not use the “Add Library” feature in Kontakt. You can load and browse its contents using the “Files” or “Database” views within the Kontakt browser. You can also use the “File” menu button at the top of Kontakt, or utilize the Quickload function for faster access to your favorite instruments.

The “DYN” slider is mapped to CC01 (Modwheel) by default and further adjusts the dynamics. For patches marked with “[mw]” in the filename, the Modwheel is specifically reserved for crossfading between different sounds or expressions. You can also disable key-velocity in the settings view to rely solely on the DYN slider for dynamics.

Yes, some parameters come pre-mapped to MIDI CCs:

• VOL (overall volume): CC11
• DYN (dynamics): CC01 (Modwheel)
• Vibrato CC03
• Mix sliders: CC22, CC23, CC24, CC25, CC26

You can right-click on any slider to re-assign or remove CC assignments.

Dragging a mix slider to zero will unload the corresponding samples and purge the track, saving system resources. To un-purge a track, simply move the mix slider back, and the samples will reload.
