Wrongtools have pushed these organs beyond their comfort zone, processing them through eccentric analog gear like vintage amps, spring reverb tanks, car speakers, and even a telephone hacked into a mic preamp, to deliver truly distinctive and unpredictable textures.
Our philosophy was to extract the inherent “living” and sometimes unstable nature of these vintage transistor organs, which are often overlooked in favor of more pristine or emulated sounds. By pushing them through unconventional and “wrong” gear, we aimed to amplify their imperfections and create textures that feel alive, unpredictable, and raw, diverging from typical clean sample libraries. It’s about finding beauty and utility in the grit and chaos that “overvoltage” brings.
