Parallelogram features recordings of metallic sculptures and objects. From colorful hits to soaring bowed pitches. A variety of techniques were used to trigger different sounds. Including striking the sculptures at different points with sticks and mallets, bowing them with rosined bows, and rubbing to create friction sounds

IDEAL FOR COLORING PERCUSSION TRACKS AND FOR SCORING TO PICTURE

The timbres emanating from these instruments include colorful hits and strikes, spooky bowed pitches, and subharmonic friction coos.

We found that longer wires and rods will give more overtones when the stem is struck with metal beaters. And more bass resonance when the construction are struck with softer beaters.

With contact mics we recorded sounds of a more ambient subharmonic nature. Thanks to a combination of → LOM GeoFon og AKG C411PP microphones, raucous  sounds from the deepest cores were captured

springs percussion

We stumbled upon the idea for this library when we visited an art exhibition with works from a friend of ours. The objects in question were built from a variety of metal parts, including wires, springs, steel rails. The artist had placed mallets on the sculpture, allowing visitors to create their own rhythms and melodies. We were immediately struck by the reverberant and dynamic sounds that were produced by the sculpture.

The  mixer tracks has a channel strip where you may do additional tweaks. Channels can be routed to individual tracks in your DAW.
