CINEMATIC GONGS

Experiments in vibrational transfer, wave movements and resonation

For the cinematic gong patches, we experimented with different materials, rubbing superballs, fingernails, scrapes, scrubbing and effects on a variety of gongs and outboard effects.

A sub speaker was mounted directly on large gongs, triggering different sorts of vibrations from there. Contact-microphones, placed on the metal, transmitted the audio waves.
